Risk

   As we walked through the sand I said to myself “I’ll cherish these memories for eternity”, as I saw her jump around in the sand as happy as they come my heart melted more and more and I kept falling for her deeper and deeper until I was no longer capable of separating my happiness from her’s. And suddenly we were walking beside each other, slowly I could feel our hands touching each other and I couldn’t stop myself anymore. I mustered up all the courage in the world I ran my fingers slowly through her palms until her hand slotted into mine, I’d never had this sensation before; her hands slotted into mine as if I was the mold they were created in as if I was the one meant to hold them.

At that moment, I asked myself “Are you ready put in the word? Are you prepared to sacrifice everything to win everything? Are you willing to risk it all? Why do you want to go so far?” with all these questions, with all these fears lingering in my head I answered myself, “Yes ---- for love”. 

And right there I stopped in my tracks I looked into her eyes, and suddenly I felt time come to a halt the roaring ocean became a silent pond, and everything turned silent as I prepared myself to profess my love. I could feel the breeze kiss my neck, the cold air running through my skin, and with the moon acting as our spotlight I said the words, “I love you”.

Just as those words left my mouth I closed my eyes and accepted my fate, but at least I was able to express myself at least I won’t have to live with regrets at least I won’t have to run from my feelings, I consoled myself. “It’s okay if you don’t have the same fee……..” was all of the sentences I could get out before I felt a warm embrace engulf my body. As I opened my eyes I saw her hugging me for dear life and crying her eyes out,
“Why’d you wait so long? Why’d you didn’t say it sooner? I’d been waiting for you since the day we met”. said her.

“I didn’t have the courage to tell you, I didn’t want what we already had to end. Why’d you not confess if you had the same feelings?” I asked.

“Every time I saw you, you were surrounded by people and I’d thought you’d be with at least one of them, I was scared of making a mistake and you cutting me off of your life so I settled with being your friend that way I could still keep your eyes in my life”. as she said that she burst into another round of happy tears.

“Guess we’re both dumb and dense,” I said as I held her face in my hands. My hand across her cheeks holding them in place my other hand running through her hair as we locked eyes again,

I asked, “May I kiss you?”

“Yes”. she exclaimed with joy as she closed her eyes.

I’d felt love before I’d been kissed before but that right there was something I’d never felt before, that wasn’t the same love I’d felt before that was something beyond pure, “She’s the one” said every cell in my body as I hugged her tight enough she couldn’t break free and told her  
”You’re not alone anymore I’m here with you and for you I love you and I’ll always love you through every hardship and I promise to be here til death do us part”.

She burst into another one of her smiling teary mode and hugged me tighter and said
”I won’t let go.”

We spent the entire night in each other's arms looking at the starry sky and the sounds of the ocean, well that is what it’d look like to someone other than us. For us, for the entirety of the night, all we could see was each other's eyes and all we could listen to was each other's voices. We probably kissed a thousand times through the night fell even deeper for each other with every word we uttered and soon it was the sunrise, we held each other in our arms as we witnessed our first sunrise together and vowed to spend all of our life together and make this first of infinite sunrises to come.
